The competition finished on Saturday 17 August with the award ceremony at the airfield. Pilots and crew from eight countries competed during the week for the best results in navigation, precision and economy tasks.
Powered Paragliding, also known as Paramotoring, has been selected as one of the sports for the Asian Beach Games 2020.
A multi-sport event for Asian nations, the sixth Asian Beach Games 2020 will take place in Sanya, China, from 28 November to 6 December 2020.
The announcement that Paramotoring would take its place in the event was made on 12 March 2019, by Sheik Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, President of the Olympic Council of Asia.
The usually tranquil oasis of Lake Qarun in Fayoum District in Egypt, 130km south of Cairo, was the scene of exciting action this November, with paramotor pilots arriving from 13 nations to compete in the 3rdFAI World Paramotor Slalom Championships. The French triumphed at the event, winning three golds in total.
A total of 65 world-class pilots from 10 countries have come together to participate in the 16th FAI World Microlight Championships, being held this week at Nagykanizsa Airport in Hungary.
The competition, which was declared open on Saturday August 11 by FAI Microlight and Paramotor Commission (CIMA) President Wolfgang Lintl, includes five different disciplines and is the 16th event of its kind so far.
