Stefan Langer awarded FAI Gliding Commission Champion Pilot of the Year 2024

German glider pilot Stefan Langer has been named FAI Gliding Commission (IGC) Champion Pilot of the Year 2024 and winner of the World Soaring Cup. The announcement was made at the IGC Plenary meeting in Celje, Slovenia earlier this month. 

Stefan Langer who has been competing for over ten years, took first place in the 18M Class at the 38th FAI World Gliding Championships in Uvalde, Texas, USA last August. He scored 95.8% of maximum possible points in the contest, making him the best performing World Gliding Champion in 2024.
