IPC rebrands to ISC
During the last IPC Plenary Meeting, the delegates unanimously voted to change the name of the International Parachuting Commission (IPC) to International Skydiving Commission (ISC). This name change modernises and enhances the IPC brand. The word “parachuting” appears to exclude indoor activity. On the other hand, parachuting is now commonly referred to as skydiving. IPC currently incorporates indoor activity in a wind tunnel and the outdoor activity, from an aircraft. The change also reflects the integration of Indoor Skydiving in the Commission and it enforces the already existing bond.
The name change has now been formal approved by the FAI General Conference in Lausanne, 5-6 December 2019.
